You ask about yourself in ChatGPT and it describes you one way. You ask in Gemini and something else comes out. The natural reaction is to decide which of the two is wrong. The useful reading is different: if two machines reach different conclusions, what’s in doubt is the material, not the machine.
Why don’t they agree?
Because they don’t read the same things or weigh them the same way. Each assistant crosses different sources, with different freshness, and some lean on what Google indexes more than others. If your presence is scattered and says different things depending on the place, each assistant builds its answer from the piece it happened to get. Both are being consistent with what they saw. The problem is what there is to see.
Which of the two versions is right?
Neither, if you didn’t decide it. The right question isn’t which one got it correct, but which of the two resembles what you want said about you, and why the other one was possible. The disagreement points exactly at where your material is ambiguous. If one places you in one sector and the other in another, that’s the gap.
Can I fix it by talking to each assistant?
No. There is no panel where you correct ChatGPT and no form where you explain yourself to Gemini. It gets fixed upstream, in what both of them read: making your name, your ground, and your track record say the same thing wherever they are looked at. When the material stops allowing two readings, the answers start converging on their own.
And if one names me well and the other doesn’t name me at all?

How often should I check?
Regularly is enough, because what changes isn’t your merit, it’s what the machine manages to read. And when what it says has gone stale, there is a path, and it is in the AI says something old or wrong about me.
